Full-Service Design —
How do I go about initiating a project with
your firm? For all design services, with the exception of our "eDecorating" services, we require
an initial in-person consultation either in your home or office space to get started. During our time together we will want to learn about your design
"wish list," as well as your style preferences, budget, lifestyle and timeframe for implementation. In addition,
we will share with you our initial impressions and recommendations, and will provide you an overview of our portfolio, services
and fees. After the initial consultation, we will provide you a written proposal outlining the services your project
requires and the estimated design cost you will incur. Contact us today to learn how easy it is to get started!
How
should we prepare for the initial consultation? Once you confirm a date and time for your consultation,
we will send you a document with all the details on what you should do to prepare before the meeting.
Would
we work with a single designer or a team of designers? How are designers assigned to clients? At
Decor by Denise we have intentionally kept our team small to provide our clients the personalized attention they deserve.
Denise Willard and Sarah Willis perform all design-related tasks. Working together with the rest of the Decor by Denise staff,
they provide you personalized attention at each phase of your project.
You get the benefit not only of personalized attention, but also you can rest assured that there will be no issues related
to continuity as there is not a large team of designers with which to coordinate. This approach helps maintain the quality
and integrity of your design, while reducing your overall project cost.
How
do you typically communicate with clients? We will discuss communication with you during the consultation to
understand your preferred method of communication and if there are constraints within which we must work. We use all
means necessary to communicate with clients--in-person meetings, phone, email, teleconference and fax.
Your eDecorator —
Why did you launch Your eDecorator?Denise was meeting with clients who desired and appreciated Decor by Denise's design aesthetic but had a limited budget,
timeframe or desire to execute the design of their room(s) themselves. After several requests from remote locations,
our virtual decorating service was born.
How do you get to know each client if you have never met them in person? Starting
with our first edition of House Calls, which was published in the Washington Post in March of 2008, we have been offering
virtual design services to our clients. We just recently decided to formalize our efforts into our Your eDecorator
service. We ask our clients to send us information that provides us insight into their needs, tastes and room
challenges. In addition to measurements of the space(s), photos and a completed questionnaire, we welcome tear
sheets from magazines and the Internet, and photos of other rooms in your home to determine your preferences.
What does this service cost? Please check out our Your eDecorator service for pricing.
We realize that not every situation fits into a neat "package." Therefore, if you have some
special circumstances that you would like to discuss with us or if you require any additional information about our services,
our methods and/or our pricing, please feel free to Contact Us.
