How do I go about initiating a project with your design firm?
As a first step to initiating a project with us, we require an in-home consultation, which usually takes
one hour to complete. During our time together we will want to learn about your design "wish list," as well
as your style preferences, budget, lifestyle and timeframe for implementation. In addition, we will share with you our
initial impressions and recommendations, and will provide you an overview of our portfolio, services and fees. After
the initial consultation, we will provide you a written proposal outlining the services your project requires and
the estimated cost you will incur.
How
should we prepare for the initial consultation? Once you confirm a date and time for your consultation,
we will send you a document with all the details on what you should do to prepare before the meeting.
Would we work
with a single designer, or a team of designers? How are designers assigned to clients? At Decor by Denise we
have intentionally kept our team small to provide our clients the personalized attention they deserve. There is one principal,
Denise Willard, and a small support staff. Denise will personally work with you on your project
with support from her team. You get the benefit not only of personalized attention, but also you can rest assured that
there will be no issues related to continuity as there will not be multiple designers who must coordinate their efforts. This
approach helps maintain the quality and integrity of your design, while reducing your overall project cost.
We close on our new house in a few weeks. Would it be better
to do an initial consultation at the new house after we close or our existing home? We prefer
to perform the consultation in your new home. If you can provide photos of the items you will be moving from your old
home they will help us ascertain what you have and what you need.
How do you typically communicate with clients? We
will discuss communication with you during the consultation to understand your preferred method of communication and if there
are constraints within which we must work. We use all means necessary to communicate with clients--phone, email, teleconference
and fax.
